Proposed Workshop Title: Building Your Dream Life
Audience: Community members of Rhode Island Minorities in Architecture & Design (RIMiAD)
Target Date: Thursday evening, October 30, 2025 (or an alternative date that best suits the presenter’s schedule as approved by the RIMiAD)

Overview

Rhode Island Minorities in Architecture & Design invites proposals from qualified presenters to lead an interactive and engaging workshop on Building Your Dream Life.

This workshop is intended to inspire and equip attendees with practical tools, strategies, and mindsets to envision their futures, set meaningful goals, and navigate challenges in their personal and professional lives. The session should encourage self-reflection, community dialogue, and the development of actionable steps toward building fulfilling and resilient career and life paths.

The audience will include design professionals, college students, and community members from diverse backgrounds who are eager to learn approaches to future planning, storytelling, and self-empowerment within the design and related fields.

Scope of Work

The selected presenter is encouraged to:

  • Design and deliver a 60–90 minute in-person workshop, followed by a 30-minute Q&A.

  • Tailor the content to a diverse audience, including design professionals, college students, and community members.

  • Facilitate interactive discussions, activities, and/or case studies.

  • Provide practical takeaways and resource materials that participants can apply beyond the session.

Proposal Requirements

Please include in your proposal:

  1. Presenter Bio & Experience – Relevant background and credentials.

  2. Workshop Outline – Proposed topics, activities, and format.

  3. Audience Engagement Plan – Methods for interaction and discussion.

  4. Recommended Audience Size – Please indicate the ideal number of attendees for effective participation.

  5. Availability – Please confirm availability for the evening of October 30, 2025, and list any alternative dates in October or November if the proposed date does not work with your schedule.

  6. Fee Structure – Honorarium, travel expenses, or other costs.

  7. References – Up to two organizations or events where you’ve presented.

Selection Process

  • Submission Deadline: Sunday, September 7, 2025

  • Interviews: Shortlisted presenters will be invited for a brief virtual interview the week of September 8th.

  • Notification: Final selection will be made by the week of September 15th
